Today must have been the happiest day for Q because I finally bought him a Wii plus Wii Fit. That was really a hard decision for me to make as I am a person against the idea that kids should spend time on video/computer games. Two years ago when Q asked me for a Wii as his birthday wish, I rejected him. Since then, he dared not propose this idea of getting a Wii. Last night, he appeared quite unhappy and then he told me the reason- he said at school he had trouble chatting with his classmates because their conversation topics were usually about the latest computer games, and he had no idea what they were talking about. Almost all of his friends have a Wii...

It is true that Q was not allowed to touch those stuff at home, and he hardly had any ideas about those popular games. In my school, most teenaged boys also like to talk about computer/online games. And some even play those games on the cellphones during the very short class break. Kids said that's a good way for them to "relax". Honestly, I doubt if it's a good idea. But how could I change their thoughts if that's a trend.

I still wonder if I did the right thing today, but anyway I hope Q will have a very happy summer vacation with the new Wii and Wii Fit.
