I like Bath for Jane Austen, Stratford for Shakespeare, and Windermere (Lake District) for William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter.

But London is still my favorite. While walking on London streets, I was thinking what Charles Dickens might write and say about today's London (if he were still alive). Would he say, "it was the best of times, it was the worst of times" ? And Sir Winston Churchill was too intelligent and insightful by these words, "The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see."

Yes, this time London touched me not because the magazine "The Economist" I used to read, nor the TV show Teletubbies Q used to watch, but a combination/respect of ancient/modern and diverse cultures, and an open access to the world, wherever you are from and go to!
